Our Materials

Materials, Chosen with Intention

At H&Aquarius, what a piece is made from matters just as much as how it looks.

Our Signature Collection is primarily crafted from 925 sterling silver, with selected pieces finished in 18K gold or rhodium and paired with natural gemstones, lab-grown and created stones, pearls, and other carefully selected materials.

We believe material information should be clear. You’ll find the specific metal, finish, and stones used in each design listed on its product page.

925 Sterling Silver

925 sterling silver forms the foundation of much of our Signature Collection.

It contains at least 92.5% silver, alloyed with other metals to provide the strength and stability needed for jewelry making.

We choose sterling silver for its precious-metal composition, luminous finish, and versatility across both refined everyday pieces and more expressive designs.

18K Gold-Plated Sterling Silver

For many of our gold-tone Signature pieces, 925 sterling silver remains the foundation.

A layer of 18K gold is applied over the sterling silver base, combining the warmth of gold with a precious-metal core.

Some designs may instead feature selective 18K gold-plated details or mixed finishes. The exact construction is always stated on the individual product page.

As gold plating is a surface finish, its appearance may gradually evolve with friction, moisture, cosmetics, and everyday wear. Visit our Jewelry Care Guide for care recommendations.

Rhodium-Plated Sterling Silver

Selected silver-tone designs are finished with rhodium plating for a bright, crisp, cool-toned appearance.

The underlying material remains sterling silver, while the rhodium acts as a surface finish.

Whenever rhodium plating is used, it will be identified in the product details.

Natural Gemstones

Selected H&Aquarius designs feature natural gemstones including quartz crystal, amethyst, peridot, agate, tiger’s eye, fluorite, and other stones specified on the individual product page.

Because natural gemstones are formed by nature, variations in color, translucency, inclusions, texture, and pattern are expected.

These differences are part of the individual character of each stone rather than imperfections.

Where certification is provided for a particular gemstone or natural material, it will be noted on the product page.

Lab-Grown & Created Stones

Our designs may also feature lab-grown and created stones, including lab-grown ruby, lab-created sapphire, cubic zirconia, synthetic YAG, and synthetic turquoise.

These materials allow us to explore precise cuts, clarity, vivid color, and expressive combinations across different designs.

We identify stones by their actual material type wherever possible rather than grouping them under a generic gemstone description.

Pearls & Other Materials

Depending on the design, H&Aquarius jewelry may also incorporate:

  • Freshwater pearls
  • Mother-of-pearl
  • Enamel
  • Ceramic
  • Selected specialty natural materials

Natural materials such as pearls and mother-of-pearl may vary subtly in color, shape, luster, and surface texture.

The specific material composition of each piece is listed on its product page.

Metal Collection

Our Metal Collection follows a different material approach from the Signature Collection.

These designs may use brass, copper, copper-based alloys, plated metal finishes, stainless or titanium-steel components, and mixed materials such as enamel, glass, created stones, and pearls.

Because construction varies from piece to piece, please refer to the Materials & Details section of each product page for the exact composition.

If sterling silver is your priority, look for pieces identified as part of our Signature Collection.

Natural Variation

No two natural materials are exactly alike.

Natural gemstones, crystals, pearls, mother-of-pearl, and other naturally derived materials may show subtle variations in color, clarity, pattern, inclusions, texture, or shape.

We aim to represent every material as accurately as possible, while recognizing that these natural variations make each piece individually unique.
