The first thing I noticed out of the box was the proportion, not the sparkle. The gold-plated finish looks a little softer in daylight than it does under warm indoor lighting. It has enough character to feel special without becoming a once-in-a-while piece.

What stands out to me in person is the three-dimensional starfish with raised organic texture, hollow construction and scattered stones.

It stacks better with a very plain band than with another statement ring. I like it more in motion than in a still product photo because the reflections change as I move.

The gold-plated finish is less harsh in person than it looked on my screen. I would still wear it often, just not with every outfit.
